Nine months since the invasion – now the Ukrainian war children are born

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

It has been just over nine months since Russia invaded Ukraine and now the so-called war children have started to be born.

The Ukrainian women who became pregnant just before or at the beginning of the war have gone through a pregnancy bordered by extreme uncertainty, high stress and bombed hospitals.

– We have been looking forward to this baby, but it has been scary at the same time, says Inna.

Inna fled from Odessa to Lviv, but refused to leave Ukraine, says her husband Dmytro.

From baby bubble to the front

– I suggested that she flee across the border, but she refused. She said: “We are waiting for you here,” says husband Dmytro.

Baby Sofia is now a week old and soon the father Dmytro will get out of the baby bubble to go back to the front.

– It is very difficult, I don’t know if I will get home alive, says Dmytro.

Hear Sofia’s parents talk about the upheaval time and their worries about the future.
