It was December 15 when Nimo Daud left work after working overtime. On the way home, she talked to a friend on the phone until she got close to her home. But when she walked towards a forest, she suddenly started screaming.
– We thought she slipped, says her sister Hibo Daud.
Her friend immediately called Nimo’s sister, who in turn contacted her husband. He ran straight to the bus stop, but Nimo wasn’t there. He then called the police to report the incident.
– They stopped me and put me in the car while I shouted that I wanted to help my girl, says her husband.
Had started planning for a life together
Despite all efforts to save her, Nimo eventually succumbed to her injuries, having been stabbed several times.
– We had started planning our life together. She took driving lessons and dreamed of having children, says Abdulrahman Musa.
Several family members were present at the funeral, many still in a state of shock.
– My 20-year-old sister was told by the police that Nimo had been murdered, says Hibo Daud.
One admits
A man in his 40s has confessed to killing Nimo. The prosecutor believes that it is an act of insanity and that the woman was not a target. The man’s defense attorney shares that image.
– From the first moment he was arrested, he has told in detail that he has committed this act and that he thereby accepts to be detained and accepts the consequences that follow from having committed the act, says defense lawyer Mikael Gonzalez.
