Nilla Fischer is one of Swedish football’s foremost ever.
In tonight’s episode, she also gets her rightful tribute film.
– For me, Nilla is one of the biggest sports we have, says one of the participants in the champions champion.
The acclaimed SVT program “The Champions Champion” has reached its third episode and on Sunday evening there was a great focus on the Swedish football player Nilla Fischer. One of Swedish football’s foremost players of all time.
Nilla’s career
Fischer has salvaged Olympic silver 2016 and double World Cup bronze in 2011 and 2019 with blue-yellow. She has also won two SM golds, two German league titles and became the Champions League champion with Wolfsburg.
Nilla has also received the diamond ball, as Sweden’s best football player on the women’s side, on two different occasions. But above all, she has been a great role model for many young girls.

Now she gets her rightful tribute to the champion’s champion.
– Nilla Fischer was involved in moving women’s soccer out of the shadows. She became one of the world’s best players and a classic folk home hero. She is one of the biggest names in Swedish football, with her 20 years and 189 international matches she was a key player for a long time in the Swedish national team. And in club football, she did a lot that most Swedes can only dream of, says the hostess Micke Leijnegard in the section.
– You are an idol and you mean a lot, both on the pitch and outside.
Praises Fischer
Fischer remembers the upbringing in Verum and what it was like to play as the only girl in a boy team.
– It was always a talk when we were playing and I could hear how the others whispered, “Check out, they have a girl with – they have to be bad”. And I was one of the best already then. That’s why it was so good after the matches, because then they didn’t have much more to say, says Nilla in the program.

Then it would go very fast for Fischer, she joined the A-team as a 13-year-old and 16 years old she debuted in the Swedish national team. During the tribute film in SVT, many of the participants are affected when they see Nilla Fischer’s mentioned speech, or should we say fire speech, from the Football Gala 2018.
– I want to take this opportunity and say to all the girls in the world. We play because we love the sport, we play for life and therefore I want to say to you girls: Never stop playing football and never stop fighting for equality. Never feel debt because we are worth so much more!, She said.
– I want to say, as a woman to woman: Thank you for the fight you take! It benefits us all so thank you for daring to take it, says Kalis Loyd In the champion’s champion.
It gets very emotional in the room during the tribute film to the Swedish football legend.
– For me, Nilla is one of the biggest sports we have because she has really changed football. She has done something that has enormous significance and will have enormous significance for many matches for a long time, says Tobias Karlsson in the section.
– Nilla’s speech is well worth getting rehearsed again and reminding us all of how we become strong together, says Charlotte Kalla.
