Niklas Wikegård’s tears during his powerful tribute to Börje Salming: “Meaned so much”

This evening hockey Sweden was reached by the news that Börje Salming has passed away.
One of many who mourn the legend: Expert Niklas Wikegård, who gave a powerful and emotional speech in C More this evening.

The announcement came earlier on Thursday evening. Börje Salming is dead. The legend was 71 years old.

Just a week or so earlier, Salming had been celebrated first in Toronto, then during the hockey gala in Stockholm.

It then became clear that Salming had been severely affected by the disease ALS and that his condition had worsened.

Nevertheless, it was obviously difficult to take in the news that Salming is dead.

All around the SHL arenas Salming was honored with a minute’s silence before the second period.

And in C More’s broadcast, expert Niklas Wikegård gave a passionate and powerful speech about the legend. In the end, however, a noticeably taken Wikegård could not hold it together any longer.
