Niklas Wikegård is never afraid to say what he thinks.
Now he roars properly against the inappropriate behavior in the SHL.

There has been a huge debate within football and supporter culture in recent years. Now the pyrotechnics have also reached the SHL and this has resulted in consequences for the hockey audience.
Wikegård’s anger
Thursday’s SHL match between Timrå and Modo in Örnsköldsvik was greatly delayed due to flares being lit in Timrå’s section. This led to security guards entering among the Timrå supporters and the away section had to be evacuated.

TV4 then reported that selected supporters were re-visited before the match could start. The whole situation got the TV4 profile Niklas Wikegård to get really angry and put the foot down properly.
“Seriously”
This is highly inappropriate behavior by the fans that he wants removed from hockey entirely.
– But then, seriously speaking. We’ve been spared that for so long, that – sorry, you football people – that’s been some kind of football crap. Can you say that?, says Wikegård on TV4.

Niklas Wikegård is now appealing to all hockey supporters around the country to stop using pyrotechnics and flares at the match arenas.
– Can I say what I want? Good. So you have to put that down. You can’t go on like this and smuggle that stuff into your groin. I think it’s very sad and very bad. The fans are so amazing in the SHL anyway, so you can do without that, says the angry hockey expert.
