Linus Klasen has been poked for two weeks.
When he will play again for Djurgården is still uncertain.
– There is absolutely nothing happening right now, says sports manager Niklas Wikegård to Expressen.
The away match against Almtuna in Uppsala was the last match that Linus Klasen played for Djurgården in the hockey Allsvenskan. It was the 18th of October. Since then, the 38-year-old has been teased because of his physical status.
Reveals Klasen’s disappointment
Despite Klasen accounting for ten points in the opening ten rounds, he was removed from the squad and has now been forced to sit out five games. It is not about any injury, but simply that the sporting management thinks that he has been in too bad shape and needs to work on his physique. Now the club wants him to improve his values before he can play matches for Djurgården again.
– He was not at all happy to receive that message of course. No one wants to be kicked out of games when you’ve scored ten points in the power play, so he wasn’t happy about it, but after a couple of days he jumped on the bandwagon and has been working hard. He has been in a professional for 20 years, he understands this, says the sports director Niklas Wikegård to Expressen.

Since the injury, the class has been training individually and with the half-injured players in the team.
– He does combined training. He has gone along quite a bit August Berg and Dick Axelssonwhich is also out of play. Otherwise, he drives himself Jimmie Ölvestad and the old men who rub shoulders with him, says Wikegård.
“We are very pleased”
It is still unclear when Linus Klasen will wear the match shirt again. There are no regulations on exactly when he will play, whether it is immediately after the national team break or later. According to Wikegård, there are certain physical criteria he must meet, but he intends “not to reveal them here”.

Despite the fact that Linus Klasen was the team’s best scorer last year, and that the whole situation naturally received a lot of attention in the media, the sporting director says that there are no hard feelings within the club. It’s not drama.
– Absolutely nothing is happening right now. He trains, he trains well and inspired. We are very pleased with how Linus is driving. He is one of the most skilled players in the league, maybe in all of Sweden to be honest, and we are trying to do something sustainable. Look at how many forwards we have, we don’t need to rush him back, Berg or Dick, who are injured – but what is best for Djurgården in the end? That’s what we work for, says Wikegård.
This is a long series. One wonders how and when it will end? Djurgården needs Linus Klasen.
