SHL referee Johan Nordlöf had to endure harsh criticism after Färjestad’s loss against Örebro.
Both from FBK coach Tomas Mitell and above all from C More expert Niklas Wikegård.
“Wikegård’s action towards the referees in C More is fucking really stale”, are the reactions on Twitter after the match.
Färjestad lost a 1-0 lead and lost 1-4 against Örebro on Thursday evening. There were a lot of expulsions in the SHL meeting and after the final whistle the FBK coach was Tomas Mitell strongly critical of the judging team for the evening.
Ferry town criticism
Mitell believes that his Färjestad did not get the opportunity to win the match due to several unfair dismissals.
– I think we play a really good match actually. I just don’t think we get the chance to win. It is frustrating. We have been ordered to try to stand up. We try to do it, but then you have to fall to get sent off. I don’t know what the idea is. It will be a bit of a parody of the whole thing, for Swedish hockey, said the SHL coach in C More’s broadcast.

Then got the judge Johan Nordlöf visit the C More studio and give their version of the events on the ice.
– Initially, we had quite a good understanding of Färjestad. Overall, it was a tough match. Färjestad ends up with many more deportations than Örebro, Nordlöf said in the broadcast.

Wikegård is sawn
Then the C More expert took Niklas Wikegård over and diluted the criticism even more by confronting the SHL referee harshly.
– Why are you being deceived? You must be able to see it there even though it goes very fast. You can’t protect yourself with it. Then you judge in the wrong league, said the hockey profile annoyed in the broadcast.

Wikegård’s harsh words towards the referee in the live broadcast have subsequently resulted in strong reactions on social media. Many in hockey Sweden have expressed their dissatisfaction with how the C More expert acted against Nordlöf.
“Wikegård is in prime time on C More and curbs the hatred against the referees. Johan Nordlöf stands there and gives good answers to the questions, explains the situations in a very good way while Wikegård runs over, almost mocks, him,” writes one on Twitter.
“Wikegård’s action against the judges in CMore is fucking really stale. It’s one thing for supporters to be completely out of touch, it’s part of it. But in the position Wikegård has, he can’t do that in prime time on CMore,” writes another.
“Good response from the referee after the match. So damn sad that Wikegård has to sit and throw shit at him after that,” writes a third.
