Niklas Anttila became the first Finnish man to win a Disc Golf Pro Tour event.
Finnish frisbee golf star Niklas Anttila has achieved the victory of the hard-level Disc Golf Pro Tour in Texas, USA. He became the first Finnish man ever to win the competition of the world’s toughest professional tour of the sport.
The Kuopio player’s score was -27 before coming in second Kyle Klein (-26). Calvin Heimburg was third (-25).
Anttila will receive almost 10,000 euros in prize money for the win.
The closing day was challenging, as the thunder had delayed the schedules. The men’s race was delayed by two hours, and the race round was also shortened.
Anttila, who competed in the USA for the first time in 2022, was in a good mood after his victory.
– When I came to the United States for the first time in 2022, my goal was to become the first Finnish Disc Golf Pro Tour event winner.
– Last weekend I was second in Waco. After that I felt that I don’t want to miss such opportunities anymore. I told myself before every throw that this is the most important throw of your life, Anttila added in the interview after the race.
