In March, Haley dropped out of the primary race, but did not immediately endorse rival Trump. When she dropped out, she was Trump’s only opponent.
But Haley says she thinks Trump has to work to win over people who supported her.
– Trump would do well to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and who continue to support me, and not assume that they will only be with him, she says during an event in Washington.
– And I really hope he does.
Trump and Haley have voiced fierce criticism of each other, and earlier in May Trump dismissed Haley as a vice presidential candidate.
Haley was the United States ambassador to the United Nations from January 2017 to the end of 2018, appointed by then-President Donald Trump.
