Russia is preparing for a counterattack
Russian forces are strengthening their positions and digging into the Kharkiv region in the north and along the southern front.
According to the Ukrainian General Staff, Russian forces are now creating secondary lines of defense, which may indicate that Russia is preparing for a major Ukrainian counterattack. Offensive Russian operations are also taking place in Severodonetsk, where Russian troops have made marginal gains in the north, west and south of the city.
A Palestinian 17-year-old boy has been shot dead and an 18-year-old has been critically injured since Israeli forces opened fire in connection with a raid on the occupied West Bank.
The incident is said to have taken place in the Jenin refugee camp where 13 Palestinians were injured and Al-Jazeera’s reporter Shireen Abu Akleh was shot dead last week.
