Elden Ring: Nightreign takes a slightly different direction than the main game. The development team has now revealed which direction the title should take and what type of content you can expect.
What kind of game will Elden Ring Nightreign be? Since Nightreign will be a multiplayer game, there was speculation that the title could become a live service game like Destiny 2 or Fortnite. These are multiplayer games that release new content over the years and entice you with microtransactions so that you keep coming back to the game and spending money.
But as game director Junya Ishizaki from From Software reveals, Nightreign will not be a live service game. All content should be available immediately upon release. This will not force players to return to the game after several months because they feel like they are missing out.

The software leaves a few options open
What will be included and what will not? From Software wants to have all the unlockables in the game right from the start. There will therefore be no seasons or in-game shops with real money in which new content will be gradually unlocked.
But there are some exceptions: There could be some content that will be implemented into the game even after the release. The development team is keeping the following options open:
There are also no plans yet as to whether there could be paid DLCs or free updates. The team initially wants to concentrate on mastering the release of the game. But after that, the team wants to follow the release plans of previous games from their own company.
Palworld also maintains that it will not become a live service game. New updates will be delivered gradually, but you are not forced to regularly spend your money on the Steam title.
