In Destiny 2, most players have already completed the Nightmare Containment seasonal activity multiple times. But have you unlocked all the secret doors on the Forsaken Leviathan? If not, you may have missed out on a lot of loot. MeinMMO tells you how to find these additional treasure chests.
Currently, during Season of the Haunted, Guardians in Destiny 2 can play Nightmare Containment, a free public event. It is one of the seasonal activities on Forsaken Leviathan and grants a regular loot chest at level 3.
What additional treasure chests are they? Besides this regular level 3 loot, there are also additional hidden treasure chests to be found during the Nightmare Containment activity that are not so easy to discover.
These additional loot boxes are behind locked doors that you have to find first. In addition, they can only be opened if the player clicks the overlay “Lockdown protocols in the fort have been temporarily lifted” at the bottom left of the screen.
MeinMMO tells you how you can remove this locking protocol and, above all, where you can find the additional loot chests.
How to unlock nightmare containment lockdown protocol?
In order for you to even be able to unlock the locking protocol, you must first play the activity “Nightmare Containment” to level 3.
How to find the five secret doors
There are a total of five of these secret doors in the castle on the Forsaken Leviathan. They’re fairly hidden in alcoves, but still recognizable by the red lights. Each door also has a switch that you have to press to open it.
So once you know how many doors unlocked for you at level 3, you can use the two minute timer to work out which of them are open.
Pay attention to the visual and acoustic cues: To make this easier, Bungie has added visual waymarkers. Also, the door switches emit a steady beep that you can hear as you approach.
Despite all these hints, it’s good to know where to walk right away. Because the Leviathan is huge and the time to open the secret chests is tight.
All locations of the secret doors in the castle:
Destiny 2 players have already created a map of Forsaken Leviathan where you can also see the locations of the secret doors.
By the way: One of these secret doors also hides a bobblehead from Calus, which you need to complete the “Biggest Fan” seasonal quest triumph and the “Reaper” season title. If you have discovered all the bobble heads, the triumph will also reward you with the “Eidolon” ghost shell.
Have you already discovered all secret chests and picked up the additional loot? What do you think of the activity itself? Captivate the strong Season 17 storyline with the interesting event voicelines to express the “Duality of existence” or do you find that lame? Write it to us in the comments.
