Clashes between JASDJ, the real name of Boko Haram, and Iswap affiliated with the Islamic State have been regular in recent years to control the areas around Lake Chad, straddling Nigeria, Cameroon, Niger and Chad. This weekend, Iswap attacked JASDJ boats, causing around sixty deaths.
