The military regime resulting from a coup in Niger told the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), in a letter dated August 7, 2023, a copy of which RFI had obtained, that it did not to be able to host in Niamey “a joint mission of ECOWAS, the United Nations and the African Union” in connection with the Niger crisis.
