Niger opens borders

Niger’s borders with five neighbors have reopened, nearly a week after they were closed during the coup that toppled President Mohamed Bazoum, one of the coup plotters announced on television on Tuesday.

– The land and air borders with Algeria, Burkina Faso, Libya, Mali and Chad are reopened as of today.

On Tuesday, a first French evacuation flight took off from Niger bound for Paris. There were 262 people on board, including several small children.
