The Nigerien junta refused to receive on Tuesday August 8 in Niamey the tripartite delegation composed of representatives of the UN, the African Union and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). While the sub-regional organization is organizing a new summit in Abuja, its heads of state insist on favoring negotiations despite the end of an ultimatum on Sunday evening and the threat of military intervention.
