Earlier this week, Mali also cut ties with Ukraine.
Niger announced on Tuesday that it would cut diplomatic relations with Ukraine immediately, accusing the country of supporting terrorist groups.
Earlier this week, Mali cut ties with Ukraine. The country accused a Ukrainian official of admitting Ukraine’s involvement in the July attack, in which Malian forces suffered heavy losses.
Several soldiers of the Russian Wagner mercenary army were also killed in the attack.
Niger announced that it would ask the UN Security Council to address Ukraine’s alleged involvement in the attack.
The military regimes running both Mali and Niger have recently turned to Russia.
