“Full”, that is the first thing Simone Wismans of the Nieuwegein company Sogelink thinks of when she is asked about the situation underground. Because in most cities, a lush forest of gas pipes, power cables, water pipes, internet cables and sewer pipes flourishes just under the pavement tiles. And so it is very easy for a well-meaning construction worker to demolish something with an excavator. And that happens regularly. The result: internet failures, water leaks and sometimes even evacuations, because a gas pipe has been torn apart.
