The work on Kanaalstraat started in October 2022 with the transplanting and felling of trees on the Bilitonkade side. Work was carried out in the direction of Damstraat in various phases.
In addition to introducing one-way traffic and replacing street furniture and tiles, 89 trees have been planted as part of the project. More space has also been created for plants. In addition, work has been done on the sewerage and underground waste containers.
