Now the icons Nicklas Lidström and Mats Sundin have been appointed to receive the great honorary assignment.
It was November 24 that Börje Salmings life was extinguished. One of Swedish hockey’s absolute greatest players and one of the most loved sports profiles in Sweden.
Tribute to Salming
He lived to be 71 years old and his body gave up after fighting the nerve disease ALS for several months. The grief was monumental in both Sweden and Canada, where Salming has been hugely praised both before and after his death.

Lidas & Sudden
Börje Salming played for Brynäs in the early 70s and won two SM golds with the club before making the move to North America. There were a total of 17 seasons for the Toronto Maple Leafs and to this day he is the back who has scored the most points for the long-standing NHL team.
