NHL Swede Viktor Arvidsson hero for the Los Angeles Kings last night – secured the playoff spot

Los Angeles is ready for the Stanley Cup playoffs – thanks to a Swede.

Viktor Arvidsson scored two goals in a 4–1 win against Calgary, giving the club the point needed to secure continued play beyond the regular season’s 82 games.

The 31-year-old made it 2-0 early in the second period and then scored 4-1 in an empty cage at the end of the third.

Arvidsson, who was pulled with injuries and missed large parts of the season, has now scored 11 points (4+9) in 15 games.

The teammate Adrian Kempe accounted for an assist, to Kevin Fialas 1–0 in the power play after 6.48 minutes of the first period.
