NHL Swede may be forced to undergo surgery

— Unfortunately, he suffered a back injury during the first day of the training camp. It looks like he will need surgery next week which will keep him out for months, Kings general manager Rob Blake said, according to the NHL website.

As Arvidsson is expected to miss at least 24 days and ten games, he is put on the long-term injured list.

— It is never possible to replace a player like Arvidsson who is energetic, creates a lot of scoring chances and gets his teammates on board, says Blake.

The 30-year-old Swede accounted for 26 goals and 33 assists in 77 games last season.
