The Detroit Red Wings placed the Finnish guard on the transfer list on Sunday.
Finnish goalkeeper Ville Husso has been placed on the transfer list in the hockey league NHL, says the series’ respected insider Elliotte Friedman.
Husso has a contract of almost five million dollars, which is expiring after this season. The 29-year-old Finnish guard’s season got off to a rough start when he conceded four goals against Pittsburgh and was benched.
Friedman resembles in Xthat the Red Wings had to make changes due to salary cap issues. Detroit needs a new forward to replace an injured one by Christian Fischer.
There was a tough competitive situation in Detroit, because Husso, Alex Lyon and Cam Talbot already formed an equally strong goalkeeper trio beforehand.
Now, any club can pick up a Finn in their ranks during the next 24 hours. If Husso passes the transfer list, Detroit can send the Finn to the AHL team Grand Rapids Griffins.
