Neymar hints that he might still play with Messi and

Brazil’s all-time top scorer Neymar confirms the 2026 World Cup will be his last.

Brazilian striker Neymar hints to CNN that he’s looking forward to playing with his former Barcelona teammates in the future Lionel Messi’s and of Luis Suarez with Inter Miami in the MLS series.

He does not rule out a move to the United States when his Al-Hilal contract expires.

Neymar, once one of football’s most feared strikers, formed a power trio with Messi and Suarez to lead Barcelona to historic achievements in the three years before his record €222 million move to Paris St Germain in 2017.

– Of course, playing again with Messi and Suarez would be incredible. They are my friends, we have still kept in touch with each other after our playing years, Neymar tells CNN.

– It would be interesting to revive this trio. I’m happy at Al-Hilal, I’m comfortable in Saudi Arabia, but who knows. Football is full of surprises.

Enough injuries

Neymar has made just seven appearances for Al-Hilal since his €90m move from PSG in 2023.

Injuries have kept the Brazilian on the sidelines for long periods. His contract expires in June.

In six seasons with PSG, Neymar completed 118 goals.

Neymar has scored a total of 79 goals for Brazil, and the 32-year-old player says he will end his national team career at the 2026 World Cup.

With six rounds of South American qualifiers remaining, Brazil are fifth in the standings. The best six go directly to the World Championships.

– I will do everything to be part of the World Cup tournament, says Neymar, who has not played since he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in a qualifying match in October 2023.
