In the 90s with Scream – Scream! a slasher milestone appeared, spawning a wave of similar horror films. One of the best-known franchises based on the Wes Craven classic is the I Know What You Did Last Summer series. The slasher, also written by Scream author Kevin Williamson, spawned 3 films and an Amazon Prime series that was canceled after one season.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer will be released in… Summer 2025 coming to US cinemas. The new edition of the cult slasher is directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who, among other things, shot the thriller comedy Do Revenge for Netflix.
Original stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. are set to return to their roles in the I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot. Even if no details about the plot are known yet, it is likely probably a legacy sequel following the example of the last two Scream sequels.
There is no information yet about the German cinema release of the new film. It is quite possible that the new I Know What You Did Last Summer will also be shown in our cinemas in the summer of 2025.
In addition to the original and the failed Amazon series, the series also has the sequels I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and I Will Always Know What You Did Last Summer.
