President-elect of the United States Donald Trump’s is scheduled to visit the state of California, which has been ravaged by wildfires, in the near future, a source familiar with the planning of the visit tells the news agency Reuters.
According to the source, the visit will take place at the end of next week. Trump is supposed to survey the destruction caused by the fires and assess the urgent help required by the region.
Democratic governor of California Gavin Newsom called to Trump’s visit earlier last week. Trump, on the other hand, has repeatedly criticized Newsom for handling wildfires and demanded his resignation.
Trump is scheduled to take office on January 20.
