The board of Spakenburg had requested additional police deployment through the municipality prior to the match, but this was limited. “It is not that there were no police at all,” said Bunschoten deputy mayor Rick Beukers earlier this week. “But if you look at this match, it is not classified in the highest category, as you do in the derby with eight thousand people at the sports park. Then there is a lot of visible police force.”
