Next Marvel star confirmed to return in Avengers 5

When the fifth Avengers part hits the cinema next year, Marvel fans can obviously look forward to seeing a lot of familiar faces. After the revelation that Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. is returning as the big villain Doctor Doom, the involvement of Captain America star Chris Evans in an unknown role has now also been announced.

Months ago it was pretty certain that this would happen Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange in Avengers 5: Doomsday should be. Now the actor himself has confirmed it again.

Benedict Cumberbatch is particularly excited about two things in Avengers 5

According to GamesRadar, the star spoke about his involvement in the upcoming MCU blockbuster in an interview with Japanese media TV Groove. The Doctor Strange actor is particularly looking forward to two things:

I’m really not only looking forward to it, to work with the Russo brothers againbut also that Robert Downey Jr. returns as Doctor Doom. I think there will be some really cool developments.

As GameSpot reported in June 2024, Benedict Cumberbatch teased his Doctor Strange return in Avengers 5 months ago. Since being a superhero in recent years traveling all over the multiverse and after Avengers 4 played a crucial role in Marvel films such as Spider-Man: No Way Home, his appearance in the fifth Avengers part is not really surprising.

When does Avengers 5 start in cinemas?

The next Avengers part will be running in Germany from April 29, 2026 in the cinemas. Avengers 6: Secret Wars is scheduled to follow on May 5, 2027. There is no exact information about the plot of Avengers 5 yet. It is clear that the team will have to deal with Robert Downey Jr. as the main villain Doctor Doom.
