HV71 now has two straight losses in the SHL since the club chose to fire coach Tomas Montén after the 0-8 humiliation against Malmö. With Johan Lindbom in the coach’s booth instead of in the club director’s chair, it was first 0-2 against Malmö and tonight the away meeting with Timrå ended 0-3.
– This is not enough if we are to win hockey matches, says Johan Lindbom in TV4 Play’s broadcast.
– We lost focus in the defensive game in the second period. There will be mistakes after mistakes, says Mattias Tedenby.
Timrå opened the scoring in the middle period. Anton Lander scored his first goal of the season when he poked the puck in after a pass from Emil Pettersson. Lander was then also behind the next home goal – he got an assist when Filip Hållander took care of his own shot return and broke his clean sheet this season.
Five straight losses
In the final period, Jonathan Dahlén closed the match when he scored his sixth goal so far to make the final score 3-0.
Timrå now has three wins in the last five rounds, while HV71 is last in the table and has five straight losses.
