The violent floods caused by the heavy rains are predicted to continue into the beginning of the week. A state of emergency has been declared in New Zealand’s largest city, Auckland.

The rains lashing New Zealand are causing floods and landslides for the third day. There are at least four fatalities.
One man is said to have been washed away and died in the swirling water in the countryside south of Auckland. Two people were previously found as victims of flood water and one of a landslide.
– The loss of human life is the most terrible part of this, said the Deputy Prime Minister of New Zealand Carmel Sepuloni yesterday saturday.
According to the authorities, the rains are becoming more frequent and intense in New Zealand. They are the environment minister who regretted the situation of those affected by the floods by James Shaw in connection with climate change.
A couple of thousand emergency calls
Thousands of households are without electricity. International flights to and from Auckland continued from last night local time.
The authorities have received more than 2,000 emergency calls during the flood. At least 70 evacuations have been carried out. Some of the residents of the worst flooded area are in temporary accommodation at schools.
According to the police, roadblocks and traffic problems may continue for longer, as landslides have damaged and cut off roads.
A state of emergency has been declared yesterday in New Zealand’s largest city, Auckland, with a population of 1.6 million. In one day, it rained as much as the city’s record, 249 millimeters. The previous record reading for the day was 161 millimeters.
According to weather forecasts, rain is expected at least until Tuesday.
