New Zealand announced Thursday, March 6, dismiss its ambassador to London after he publicly expressed doubts about the understanding of historical events by US President Donald Trump. Phil Goff, New Zealand ambassador to the United Kingdom, wondered on Tuesday if the American president “really understood history” during a round table on the Russian invasion in Ukraine. Phil Goff had also compared the possibilities of peace negotiations on Ukraine to the 1938 Munich agreements, which had enabled Nazi Germany to annex certain regions of Czechoslovakia.
