In the United States, the federal prosecutor has filed criminal charges against the Democratic mayor of New York Eric Adams against, american media reported on Wednesday.

The accusations are based on several investigations concerning, among other things, the alleged corruption of the Adams administration and differences among high-ranking officials.

According to the New York Times, the charges are not public. So for now, it is unclear what exactly Adams is accused of.

Adams is the first sitting New York City mayor to face federal criminal charges.

Federal prosecutors are expected to release details of the charges on Thursday.

Adams pleaded not guilty Wednesday.
