With the participation of Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and Coast Guard Command teams, illicit alcohol inspections were carried out for boats organizing entertainment events in Beşiktaş and surrounding districts before the New Year. In the inspections, it was checked whether the boat operators comply with the banderols of the products served and the hygiene rules of the workplace.
“WE ARE STRENGTHENING OUR AUDIT”
Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Director Ahmet Yavuz Karaca’s strictness was also checked, and the teams checked whether the necessary documents of the enterprises were complete. Karaca, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, said, “We inspect all stages from farm to table regarding our people’s access to safe food within the framework of veterinary services, phytosanitary, food and feed law numbered 5996, on a 24/7 basis. As before Eid al-Adha and Eid-al-Fitr, we are intensifying our inspections a little more, especially in workplaces where alcohol is consumed and alcohol is produced before the New Year. In this period, we are intensifying our inspections together with our Coast Guard Command at sea and with our police and gendarmerie on land. During this period, together with our Coast Guard Command and our teams, we conducted inspections on boats that will sail into the Bosphorus and serve alcohol. First we check the documents, we check whether the banderols are real or not with the barcode reading devices developed by the Ministry of Finance. Also, does the business have documents with the presentation of alcohol? Do they have TAPDK documents, do they have licenses, do employees have hygiene documents, do they have spraying certificates? We are finalizing our inspection by carrying out their inspections,” he said.
