(Finance) – For the New Year’s Eve dinner, Italians will spend an average of 72 euros each, for an estimated total of over 3 billion euros. This is what emerges from asurvey commissioned by Facile.it to EMG Different. Scrolling through the results of the analysis – carried out on a representative sample of the national adult population – it emerges that the age group that will spend the least is that of the under 25s, who this year will spend, on average, just 34 euros on the dinner. Probably, this figure is linked to the custom of celebrating New Year’s Eve in the company of friends and family, each bringing something to celebrate and, therefore, spending less.

The investigation also revealed some geographical differences in spending forecasts: according to Facile.it estimates, those who are preparing to spend the most for the New Year’s Eve dinner are the residents of the South and the Islandswith an average amount of 97 euros per person. Much higher budget than Italians who live in North East and in Central Italy which will allocate, respectively, 46 euros and 52 euros.

Budget compared to 2023

24% of those interviewed admitted that they will budget a greater amount for the dinner than in 2023. On the other hand, as many as 2.3 million Italians (12%) will spend less this year, a percentage that reaches 25% among 35-44 year olds and even 30% in the North East.

Loans to finance the holidays

Between sophisticated menus, fireworks, trips and so on, the New Year’s Eve party has become an event that requires careful planning of your finances. The Facile.it survey found that as many as 1% of those interviewed will resort to a personal loan to finance their New Year’s Eve dinner.
