The Season of Conquerors has begun for New World Aeternum. Instead of enjoying the new level experience, the great focus on PvP kills the fun of many heroes.
What does the season offer? Since January 21, 2025, you can jump into the Season of Conquerors with a new character, which revolves around the theme of PvP. From level 15 onwards, every hero is automatically marked for PvP. Collected raw materials and loot can also be lost if you die virtually. Events, battle passes and new loot accompany the experience.
Although you could already master the level phase of New World Aeternum quite quickly, the hunt for experience points noticeably increases its pace again in the season: On the seasonal worlds you receive 25 percent more experience and weapon mastery. From level 15 you can ride automatically. You get the first mount at a tent camp.

Frustration with announcement
Where is the problem? The MMORPGs from the past decades have brought many insights to light. These include:
The latter could be seen a few years ago on various WoW Classic PvP servers, for example, when the respective majority factions had fun for months by disgusting the other side out of the game or at least onto other servers.
Experiences so far in Season of Conquerors have been similarly frustrating for some players.
So it’s almost a good thing that the first season of New World Aeternum may have put off many genre fans because of the PvP focus that was announced in advance. And that those responsible at Amazon Games decided during the development of the MMORPG to change the focus from sandbox survival PvP to more theme park PvE.
It’s just a shame that this realization came so late that a lot of the PvE content ended up on the live servers in a fairly generic and mixed way.
