New World is one of the best MMORPGs on Steam ahead of 2023 with 81% positive reviews – just €20 right now

The much-maligned MMORPG New World seems to be in good shape ahead of 2023: recent reviews on Steam climb to 81%, making it one of the best MMORPGs on the PC platform.

What milestone has New World just reached?

  • The recent reviews on Steam, i.e. the ratings of the players in the last 30 days, have risen to 81% positive.
  • The 80% mark is a magic threshold for MMORPGs. Few major MMORPGs get the “Very Positive” rating
  • This is particularly impressive for New World because many already wrote off the game after the rough 2021 release: At the time, many thought the MMORPG “needed another year” – apparently the developers made good use of this year.

    However, the current negative reviews are often about “side issues”: someone was banned, someone thinks Amazon is stupid, someone has technical problems, someone was flamed because they spoke German.

    The factual criticism of the game is something like: quests and PvP weren’t that great, the paths are boring and there are still too many bugs.
