The snowy weather continues to make it difficult for traffic in central Sweden.

Along the west coast, strong winds can lead to flooding and downed trees across roads and train tracks.

“By order of the Swedish Transport Administration, there is reduced traffic for all train companies in Central Sweden as a result of the weather,” writes the train company VR.

    During Tuesday morning, SMHI has a total of 30 weather warnings out. A number of yellow warnings remain in place across central Sweden since yesterday. SMHI warns of heavy snowfall in combination with winds in southern Norrland, in southern Gävleborg county and the eastern part of Dalarna county, which can cause major problems in traffic.

    There is a risk of slippage and poor visibility, and road users are asked to allow more time for the journey and adjust their speed to the road conditions. There is also a high risk of delays in public transport.

    Even on the mountain, there is a yellow warning for difficult weather until 3 p.m. Only those who are used to mountains are encouraged to stay in the environment, as it can be difficult to orientate yourself and anchor a tent.

    In Halland, Bohuslän, western Västergötland and southern Dalsland, the winds can reach gusty winds and cause fallen trees on roads and other infrastructure. There is therefore a risk of canceled public transport and disruptions in electricity and telecommunications networks.

    In Dalarna, there is a continued orange warning for heavy snowfall in combination with windy weather. It can be difficult to make your way through traffic due to drifts, slippage and poor visibility. Delays and canceled departures can also occur in public transport.

    The storm can also cause power outages and disturbances in the telecommunications network. The warning is valid until 6 p.m.
