New weapon in Destiny 2 kills Guardians in just 0.64 seconds

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

New weapons and perks are constantly being added to Destiny 2, changing the game’s meta. One combination is currently particularly popular and is considered by many guardians to be the hottest in the current Season 20. MeinMMO introduces you to the new super killer and tells you where to get it.

Which weapon is currently in hot demand? Currently, the new submachine gun “The Immortal” with the “Strong” damage type is probably the hottest gun in all of Destiny 2. The new “carrot” in front of the guardian’s nose, so to speak.

Especially with the right perk combo, she becomes an absolute beast and combines speed and dominance. Primarily in PvP.

  • On the first trials weekend in Season 20 alone, when “The Immortal” first came into play, almost 10 million kills (9.5%) were already due to her alone.
  • Soon after, Iron Banner players dreaded her apparent dominance, killing even maxed-out Guardians at breakneck speed.
  • MeinMMO took a look at what makes the weapon so powerful and what its god roll looks like.

Why is The Immortal so strong in Destiny 2 right now?

The small 750 submachine gun is really tough and has the potential to shift the meta in Destiny 2. It’s already a must-have for PvP, and it does a good job in PvE, too.

Many Destiny 2 players even claim that “The Immortal” currently ruining PvP because she kills so incredibly effectively. So one should ask: Why is “The Immortal” actually so outstanding?

Here is the big advantage: Looking at the weapon’s perks, it quickly becomes clear that in its godroll it outclasses any submachine gun Destiny 2 has ever had. Basically the holy grail of submachine guns for anyone who wants a lightning fast rate of fire, high damage output, and stable accuracy.

It is above all the perk “Aim at target” that takes “The Immortal” to these unimagined heights. You only need a few hits to activate the perk, around 4-6, and they don’t even have to be precise.

The longer you point the weapon at your enemy, the higher the damage. This makes the perk currently by far the easiest damage bonus to activate in the game. Not only on this submachine gun.

  • The Target Aim perk can be stacked up to 5x.
  • The first stack grants a damage buff of around 17% and at maximum stacks the weapon gains a 40% damage buff.
  • If you then combine that with perks like “Impact Bullets” and “Rangefinder” for more range, almost nothing can stop you.
  • An outstanding TTK completes everything: If all shots from the aggressively-framed Trials weapon are always precision hits, the SMG has an impressive TTK of just 0.56 seconds. However, the average TTK is closer to 0.64 seconds, which is still impressive.

    For comparison:

  • Adaptive MPs, like the Iron Banner weapon The Burden of Heroes, have a TTK of 0.73 seconds.
  • Aggressive SMGs like the “Ikelos_MP_V1.0.2 and V1.0.3” have a TTK of 0.77 seconds.
  • Accurate SMGs, like Shayura’s Wrath, offer a 0.80 second TTK.
  • What is TTK? The “TTK” is the “time to kill”, i.e. the time how long it takes to bring an opponent from full life points to 0. In Destiny 2, primary weapons tend to range from 0.80 TTK to just over a second when hitting the optimum headshot.

Better than their alternative: When it comes to submachine guns with an aggressive housing, “The Immortal” also effortlessly sweeps away its direct Warmind competition in the form of the current Arkus SMG “Ikelos_MP_V1.0.3”. She’s basically an Ikelos in the Kinetics slot with better stats and more beneficial perk options. Also, an Ikelos SMG cannot roll with Rangefinder and a damage perk. “The Immortal” can do it.

The Destiny 2 streamer “Fallout Play” shows you how effective this is in combat in this video. Here you can see that the weapon in its perfect combo can effectively and quickly take out other Guardians, regardless of resilience level, with only 10 hits.

  • This is how you get “The Immortal” in Season 20

In Season 20, the Trials of Osiris brought MP back to Destiny 2. PvP mode is also currently the only source where you can get The Immortal. It’s even easier to do this this weekend, from March 31st to April 4th, as Bungie is giving a boost to Trials reputation ranks.

  • You can obtain the weapon through Trials engrams from Saint-14.
  • Once you’ve obtained The Immortal, you can focus any further Trials Engrams directly on the MP until you get your desired weapon roll.
  • Also available as master version: However, if you want the master version of the weapon, you’ll have to wait longer. “The Immortal” will only come back to the Trials of Osiris in Season 20 from May 19th to 23rd as a master version. Here you need 7 wins in a row – so you have to be “Flawless” on your Trials Pass.
