Possibly the most influential superhero movie of the last 5 years is getting a sequel: The animated hit Spider-Man: A New Universe showed MCU boss Kevin Feige that the multiverse is a cow ready to be milked in major blockbusters. This was followed by the Multiverse-heavy series and films Loki, Doctor Strange 2 and Spider-Man: No Way Home. DC will also follow the trend.

The villain is called The Spot and is voiced by Jason Schwartzman (Rushmore). Spot’s birth certificate lists the name (Dr.) Jonathan Ohnn. He’s made for a multiverse movie, as one of his abilities involves opening interdimensional portals. He can teleport himself or parts of his body. He shares an enmity with both Spider-Man and Daredevil.
