This year the fantasy summer will be hot again like a dragon or Balrog kiss. In addition to the 2nd season of House of the Dragon, the 2nd season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is also online on Amazon.
There were brand new trailers for both seasons just yesterday, which opened round 2 of the battle of the fantasy series. But Amazon had another video up its sleeve: one Video featurettewhich, in addition to providing interesting insights into various aspects of the production, possibly anticipates a character death.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power – S2 Featurette (English)
Galadriel actress Morfydd Clark feels her character is more connected to Middle-earth this season, which drives her in her quest to stop Sauron (Charlie Vickers). Gil-galad actor Benjamin Walker also says it seems like this as if the kid gloves were coming off your hands this season.
This seems to be particularly true for a series character whose actor also has his say.
What can we speculate from the Rings of Power Season 2 fantasy featurette?
Arondir actor Ismael Cruz Córdova says the following about his elf character: “The darkness has reached him. He has suffered the worst psychological blow yet.” We see how his character is about to cremate several corpses. And whose death would be most likely to plunge him into darkness? The obvious answer is that of his beloved human healer Bronwyn (Nazanin Boniadi), who narrowly escaped the Grim Reaper in Season 1.
Production-wise, however, another option would make sense – namely Bronwyn’s son Theo. Not only because he was easily seduced by the darkness in the first season and such characters often become targets, but because actor Tyroe Muhafidin may grow up a little too quickly if there aren’t time jumps at some point.

The death of either Bronwyn or Theo would also make a ton of sense thematically. After all, it was already hinted in the debut season that canonically love relationships between elves and humans always end tragically. There is also the issue of mortality and Discrepancy between immortals and mortals at the absolute center of the story.
When is The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 coming to Amazon?
The second season of The Rings of Power starts on August 29, 2024 on Amazon Prime Video. At least this time you won’t get in the way of the new season of House of the Dragon, which is coming to Sky Deutschland on the night of June 16th and 17th.
