New update in MMORPG of Lord of the Rings makes dad happy – he can now play much better with his 8-year-old son

The MMORPG Lord of the Rings Online from the developer Standing Stone Games receives a rework of Gondor and many other extras with its extensive update 36. But one detail is particularly pleasing to a passionate player who is now the father of an 8-year-old child. With the difficulty slider, LOTRO now allows the father to interact even better with his son.

What is Lord of the Rings Online? Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO for short) is a game in the Tolkien universe that has been open for 17 years and is regularly updated with updates such as revised graphics.

Recently, however, Amazon Games’ announcement of a new Lord of the Rings MMO caused quite a stir. Developer Standing Stone Games felt compelled to make a statement to reassure the community by assuring that LOTRO would continue to be distributed.

What does update 36 bring? Update 36 has been released today and it also brings the revised area to Gondor. The developer describes the change as follows:

After Sauron’s defeat, King Elessar and Queen Arwen try to bring peace to their kingdom, but the danger is not over and new enemies seek to threaten Gondor. Fresh adventures await you in King’s Gondor East’s new post-War of the Ring zone, where fresh breezes lift the mists of the Dawnless Day and let the sun shine again! Discover the beginning of a new storyline of epic proportions, A Song of Waves and Wind, and join forces with Legolas, Gimli, and friends old and new to investigate the lingering threat posed by the Heirs of Castamir! Gone are the now sombre, dark skies, replaced by bright and sunny fields and hills. Players familiar with the original central and eastern Gondor regions will be familiar with King’s Gondor, but there are new additions and locations that players have not previously been able to visit. These are now open for further exploration!

A new feature in Gondor allows for better family play

How does Update 36 help father and son interact? According to Reddit, the father spends his time with his 8-year-old son immersing himself in the world of Lord of the Rings for an hour or two a week. Apparently both of them enjoy exploring the world and doing nonsense in it.

The proud dad is very impressed with Update 36 and describes his interaction with his son as follows:

So far we spend our time fooling around and checking out the area. He’s pointing the way and I’m reluctant to push him in any direction, which is good for his experience.

He goes on to say that he was super hyped after learning about update 36 and the Gondor difficulty setting slider. In this way, the interaction would be much more fun. In this way he could finally adapt the difficulty to himself and his son and increase the previous experience all the more.
