The Outlast Trials has announced a series of planned updates, with a developer statement on its early access status.
The eerie multiplayer experience of The Outlast Trials is the newest addition to the Outlast video game franchise.
The Outlast Trials are eagerly awaited
Released in early access in May of this year, The Outlast Trials is an online multiplayer horror game that takes a four-player team through title trials, a set of terrifying challenges in itself. The game has already garnered positive player response and this new developer update promises more incredible psychological horror games in the future.
While still in early access, the game’s director shared a look at what the Red Barrels team is working on to bring the game to the full version. Most notable among the updates are consoles and cross-play support. Currently, The Outlast Trials is only available on PC, but the developer update states that the team is working on porting the game to PlayStation and Xbox.
It is also stated that the team hopes to bring cross-play support to the game, but it is not certain whether such a feature will always be possible. Other major updates coming to The Outlast Trials include increased performance-based XP, an upcoming reporting system to prevent bans and player harassment, and a limited Halloween special.
An adventure with plenty of puzzles awaits us
The Outlast Trials immerses players in a series of truly eerie levels that focus on solving a certain number of puzzles to unlock escape routes. But the real challenge will come in the form of solving various psychotic enemies that will hunt players down and try to prevent them from escaping. Players have to use the in-game chat to communicate with each other and solve puzzles.
The original Outlast game and its sequel Outlast 2 are lauded as the best psychological horror games of the time. These games, which prioritize atmospheric horror and storytelling, are among the most popular game genres of the last period. So how do you think the new game will be?
