New trailer for The Pit 2

The Pit was a Netflix phenomenon in 2020: Many sci-fi fans liked the gruesome vision of the future of a prison in which inmates are supplied with food via a floating platform. But in the high-rise complex, the levels are served one after the other – and those on the top stuff their bellies at the expense of those on the bottom. The sequel The Pit 2 has now a new trailer.

In The Pit 2, a civil war shakes the sci-fi prison

Similar to Goreng’s (Ivan Masagué) fight in the previous film, The Pit 2 is also about a war of distribution: At first, the prisoners seem to stick to a simple rule: everyone eats what they have ordered. But as more and more of them break the rule, a mysterious figure is said to with “Terror” to ensure order on the 333 floors.

Judging by the trailer, the protagonist of the first part is not returning. Nevertheless, some will be seeing familiar faces again: Hovik Keuchkerian (House of Money) and Milena Smit (Parallel Mothers) will be seen in front of the camera, among others.

When is The Pit 2 coming to Netflix?

Shaft 2 is scheduled to October 4, 2024 will be released on Netflix. Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia is directing again. It is not yet known whether the film takes place before or after the events of its predecessor.
