New trailer for the Hunger Games prequel story

In a few weeks we can return to the world of Panem, because one is starting with The Hunger Games – The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes new film adaptation the sci-fi series of the same name written by Suzanne Collins in the cinema. However, it is not a continuation of the Katniss Everdeen story.

Instead, The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes takes you back in time and tells about the Beginnings of the Hunger Games. Actually, we get to see the tenth edition of the deadly competition, where the young Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth) has to train District 12 native Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler).

Coriolanus Snow is a character that we have already seen in the previous films, but back then in the form of Donald Sutherland, who appeared as merciless dictator reigns over Panem. In The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes we learn what events in his life turned him into such a tyrannical character.

The film was directed by Francis Lawrence, who is very familiar with the series. After Gary Ross brought the first part to the cinema in 2012, Lawrence took over the series as director from The Hunger Games – Catching Fire in 2013. The film was shot largely in Germanyincluding Berlin, Cologne and Leipzig.

We don’t have to wait long for the new Hunger Games film. The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes opens on November 16, 2013 in German cinemas. With a running time of two hours and 37 minutes, it is the longest part of the dystopian science fiction series, which has grossed $2.9 billion to date.
