The Planet of the Apes franchise was successfully rebooted in 2011 with the magnificent blockbuster Planet of the Apes: Prevolution. The opening gave rise to a trilogy that grossed over $1.5 billion at the global box office. After the conclusion of Planet of the Apes: Survival, a new sequel was announced in 2019.
Planet of the Apes: New Kingdom will be released in cinemas at the beginning of May 2024 and a first teaser trailer a few months ago set the mood for the next part of the series. The new part is playing 300 years after death of the previous primate hero Caesar and deals with its legacy. While there is almost nothing left of humanity, the apes have established their own kingdom. Here the new powerful leader Proximus Caesar twists his predecessor’s values to enslave other tribes. The chimpanzee Noa wants to stop him with human support.
