A few hours after Amazon published the first teaser for the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, the fantasy competitor House of the Dragon with a new trailer. The almost two and a half minute preview of the second season of the hit series unleashes the ultimate dragon war around 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones.

That’s what House of the Dragon Season 2 is all about
At the end of the first season of House of the Dragon, former childhood friends Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) and Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) find themselves on different sides. As the chosen heir to the throne, Rhaenyra wants to assert her claim to the Iron Throne, but Alicent sees this in her son Aegon, her child with the previously deceased King Viserys. This is how one begins bitter battle for the Seven Kingdomsin which there can only be losers.
The prequel series is based on the book Fire and Blood by Game of Thrones author George RR Martin. Season 2 of House of the Dragon will see the return of Matt Smith, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel and Ewan Mitchell, among others. New additions include Gayle Rankin, Simon Russell Beale, Freddie Fox and Abubakar Salim.
When is House of the Dragon season 2 coming?
The second season of House of the Dragon will air on the night of June 16th to June 17th, 2024 start on Sky or WOW. A total of eight new episodes will then appear weekly.
