The new course leads the runners through the center of Utrecht, but also through Houten. Start and finish of the event are at the Utrecht Science Park. The marathon runners go through the Galgenwaard stadium towards Houten, where they pass the Rietplas and the two train stations, among other things. Along the Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal the runners return to Utrecht, where they come back to Lunetten into the city.
