That “green, armed men” appear, as during the annexation of Crimea, is considered one of the most likely scenarios practiced in Lithuania today.
– What we practiced today could very well happen in the security situation that prevails in the region, says the head of the national border guard, Rustamas Liubajevas.
Due to its geographical location, Lithuania has increased its border security after the invasion of Ukraine, first on land and now also at sea.
– Our neighboring countries, Russia and Belarus, pose serious and unpredictable threats and our preparedness will be at the highest level, says Lithuanian Interior Minister Agnė Bilotaitė.
