We didn’t get a proper conclusion with the series finale of The Walking Dead. Because the stories of some characters will soon be continued in several spin-offs. The first sequel series pits Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) against each other again and leaves already this June at the start.
AMC now has a new teaser too The Walking Dead: Dead City published. Although this is only 15 seconds long, it shows us for the first time the event that brings the two archenemies together again. And there is one more surprise.

Negan and Maggie parted ways in the finale of The Walking Dead. The new series now makes one Time jump of several years and will send the reunited duo on a perilous trip towards New York City. Why do they go to the island of Manhattan, which is overrun by zombie hordes and brutal looters? The reason is one rescue mission.
Maggie’s son Herschel was kidnapped by a new villain named The Croat (Zeljko Ivanek). And Negan of all people, the murderer of Hershel’s father Glenn, is said to be the only person who has meanwhile grown into teenagers can save boys.
The Dead City teaser trailer not only confirms the return of Hershel Rhee. The Role was also recast. Due to the larger time jump, we get to see a new Hershel in The Walking Dead sequel.

It is not yet known which actor will play the character in the new series. Previously, Kien Michael Spiller, now 12, played Maggie’s son in seasons 10 and 11. It is also not yet known how the spin-off will deal with Negan’s happy ending with his wife and child (still unborn in the finale).
When does the new The Walking Dead series Dead City start?
The new The Walking Dead series will be released in the US in June 2023 at AMC start. There is no concrete start date yet. The first season is made up of total six episodes consist. It is not yet known when and where Dead City will be shown in Germany.
