The Office reboot was co-created by Greg Daniels, who was already at work as a creative force on the US series. He receives support from Michael Koman, who previously worked on series such as Nathan for You and Eagleheart. Domnhall Gleeson will lead the cast of the comedy format alongside The White Lotus star Sabrina Impacciatore.

The series takes place in the same universe as the Dunder Mifflin paper company known from The Office and revolves around one Newspaper editorial office facing ruin in the Midwest who is trying to save her company with volunteer reporters. Everyday office life is followed by the same documentary team as was the case in the hit series with Steve Carell and therefore one similar mockumentary style exhibit.

The US streaming service Peacock has ten episodes ordered for the still untitled series. It is not yet known when and where The Office reboot will be shown in this country.
